Movie Review
The storyline of the movie is quite different from the regular 'Gandhinagar style'. Armed with an excellent script, director Mahesh Rao has handled the sequences very well with good narration without giving any room for the audience to lose their patience. It combines everything that GenNext wants in a story that moves on two tracks with an excellent climax. The director has also woven in the story the link between politicians and policemen who come together to bury a case.

One track of the story focuses on Lakshmi (Sindhu Loknath), who works as a domestic help in an apartment. We have one hero Madeva (Niranjan) who works as an assistant in a roadside eatery. He falls in love with Lakshmi. In the other track, we have Kavya (Shwetha Pandith), a simple and humble girl studying in 12th standard, who falls in love with Sandy (Abhishek) of the same apartment. Sandy makes her to believe that he is in love with her. He takes some inappropriate photographs of Kavya and circulates them as MMS. Kavya comes to know of this and deserts Sandy. There is twist to the story when Lakshmi comes to work in Kavya's house. Sandy decides to take revenge on Kavya by throwing acid on her. But Lakshmi becomes a victim. The following sequences are full of drama with Madeva being made a scape goat. How? Don't miss the drama till the climax.

Shwetha Pandith is a 'Big Boss' of the lot with an excellent performance as a college girl. There is life in her character which forms central theme of the story. Sindhu Loknath is equally good. Nirnajan impresses. Abhishek as Sandy is good. Camera by Sabha Kumar and music by Arjun Janya are other highlights of the movie.

Silk Sakkath Hot Movie Review

Silk Sakkath Hot Kannada Movie Review

Film Name:Silk Sakkath Hot
Cast: Akshay, Veena Malik, Sana, Avinash, Sadhu Kokila, Srinivasamurthy, Achyuth Kumar
Direction: Trishul
Genre: Drama

Movie Review
Director Trishul has woven a story around the character who is a sex worker, played by Veena. The story is about a young girl born in a poor family forced to become a sex worker. Though she tries to come out of it, society doesn't allow her to do so. Though the story can be described as old wine in new bottle, there is freshness in narration and script with good sequences. But the director could have done a better job in the latter part of the second half (before the climax) with sequences which are unnecessarily stretched.

The entire script revolves around Silk (Veena Mallik) hailing from a poor family in a small village. A localite (Srinivasamurthy) lures her to come to Bangalore promising her to make her a heroine so that she can earn good money. But he sells her to a brothel owned by Ammanni (Sana) who forces her become a sex worker. We have a good samaritan in our hero Shiva (Akshay), a reformed rowdy, who marries her. Ammanni gets upset and takes police help to harass Silk and Shiva.

The story takes a sentimental turn when Silk delivers a baby and Shiva is killed by aides of Ammanni. Silk also comes to know about her baby's health problem that requires Rs 25,000 for treatment. She approaches everyone she knows for help, but none comes forward. The climax has some touching sequences.

Veena Mallik has given life to her character in all sequences. Akshay impresses. It's is Sana as head of a brothel who impresses with brilliant performance. Music by Jassie Gift has some catchy tunes. Camera by Jai Anand is impressive.

Loosegalu Movie Review

Loosegalu Kannada Movie Review
Film Name:Loosegalu
Cast: Srimurali, Srikanth, Akul Balaji, Aishwarya Nag, Rekha, Shravya
Direction: Arun
Duration: 2 hours 25 minutes

Movie Review
Debut director Arun has selected a good story with a good script but fails to impress with narration. Though the subject - how greed for money can ruin one's life - is a good theme to deal with, the narration is too slow and many times lengthy keeping you guessing what the director wants to say. The story does not move an inch in many sequences. There is also a need to trim the movie by at least 15 minutes removing some absurd sequences. The director has failed to capture the drama in many sequences effectively.

The story has three heroes - Kabira (Srimurali), Bujji (Srikanth) and Shankara (Akul Balaji). All of them are after money for one reason or the other. The drama begins when Srikanth loots a bank and escapes in the taxi driven by Shankara. Before fleeing, two persons were killed by him in the shooting. Shankara comes to know of the money in the bag and tries to kill Bujji for the money to aid his mother's medical treatment. In the drama that follows, the money bag reaches Kabira who had just come out of the jail. He is in love with Maggie ( Rekha). He kills her and takes away the money bag from her. At last, Kabira, Bujji and Shankara come together and realize that money spoils peace of mind. Another drama breaks out here when Shankara tries to kill Bujji. The twist is that one of the two persons he had killed in the bank was Shankara's lover Milky (Aishwarya Nag). The rest is a drama.

While Akul Balaji's expressions are perfect, Srimurali and Srikanth have done justice to their roles. Aishwarya Nag is stunning with her glamorous looks, Shravya shows promise in acting. It's the debuant music director Vani Harikrishna who wins your heart with some excellent tunes. Cinematography by HK Dayananda is okay.

Teenage Movie Review

Teenage Kannada Movie Review

Film Name: Teenage
Cast: Kishan, Tanvi Lonkar, Apoorva Arora, Priya Bharat Khanna,
Shivadhwaj, Jayashri Raj, Jyothi Reddy, Spoorthi Suresh, Raju Talikote
Direction: HR Srikanth
Genre: Romance
Duration: 2 hours 9 minutes
Movie Review
It's a love story of a schoolboy caught in the web of romance with girls. Director HR Srikanth has done a good job of the script which captures the dilemma of a student who becomes the heart-throb for many girls. The boy is excited, but at the same time comes under pressure in dealing with the situation. There is also drama with each girl he comes in contact with. He also faces rivals in the school who are jealous of his intimacy with the girls. Though the movie is excellent technically, the narration is not that tight and looks ordinary many a times.

Aarya (Kishan) is the heart-throb of many girls in his school. Anjali (Tanvi ( Priya Bharath Khanna), Apoorva Arora (Preethi) and Rosy (TanviLonkar) fall for his beautiful looks and songs. Preethi takes him to her hometown Goa where he meets Rosy. They vie with each other to spend time with Aarya. But the boy is completely in dilemma as he is not able to face the situation. What does he do? There is also a sentimental track where we find Aarya trying to come close to his sister Siri (Shrijit) who is adopted by his aunt from a young age.

After Care of Footpath, Kishan looks matured in acting and impresses as a teenager. Slumdog Millionaire fame Tanvi, Apoorva and Priya are lively. Music director Siddarth Vipin has come out with some foot-tapping energetic numbers. Cinematography by Magesh Dev is excellent.

Mangana Kaili Manikya Movie Review

Mangana Kaili Manikya Kannada Movie Review

Film Name:Mangana Kaili Manikya
Cast: Ramesh Aravind, Harshika Poonacha, Rangayana Raghu,
Ravishankar Gowda, Sanathini, Soniya Gowda, Khushi
Direction: Rajendra Karanth
Genre: Comedy
Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes

Rajendra Karanth has proved his talent in his very first movie with good script and narration. He has handled the comedy sequences very
well without giving any room of slackness. Though some dialogues seem to have a double meaning, there is no vulgarity in them. Perhaps,
Karanth could have done a better job of the climax which looks chaotic with too many characters.

The story highlights of how a blind director makes a Kannada movie without revealing his handicap. Manu ( Ramesh Aravind), a film director, is selected by producer Prabhu (Rangayana Raghu) to direct a movie called Kathriguppe. But he becomes blind as he could not face the tension of making the movie. Fearing that he would lose the job, he never reveals his blindness to anyone. He has his assistant Ranganni Ravishankar Gowda). There are excellent comedy sequences like Manu addressing the heroine looking somewhere, approving the shots without looking at the monitor, selecting costumes for the lead roles, etc. But one fine day everyone comes to know that he is blind. Though upset with the turn of events, producer Prabhu tries to cash in on his blindness by making announcement that a blind director is directing his movie. The story takes a curious turn when suddenly Manu regains his eye sight. But that does not help him as he had to act as the blind director so that the publicity he got for the movie is not lost. How does he do it? It is full of comedy sequences.

Full marks to Ramesh for his excellent performance as a blind director. Ravishankar Gowda is equally good in giving life to his
comic character. Harshika Poonacha has given a matured performance, perhaps the best in recent times. Camera by JG Krishna and music by Ramesh Ramanathan pass the muster.

Money Honey Shani Movie Review

Money Honey Shani Kannada Movie Review
Film Name:Money Honey Shani
Cast: Monish Nagaraj, Bhavana Rao, Vasu Dixit, RJ Prithvi, Kaanchan
Direction: Rajesh Murthy
Genre: Drama
Duration: 1 hour 36 minutes
Release Date:19-july-2013

Movie Review
It's a time-pass watch for GenY. The 96-minute movie has a bit of romance, suspense and action too but doesn't make you feel that you have watched a movie. Perhaps, director Rajesh Murthy could have improved the script and narration. But he takes full marks for giving the story some life with lively moments. The story focuses on how money changes nature, attitude and life of people who fall for it. The lead character of the movie is Bhavana Rao, lover of Monish.

One fine day, she sends him a message saying that she is leaving him as she believed in 50 per cent love and 100 per cent financial security from her partner. She bags some money after cheating Shetty (RJ Prithvi), a don, and leaves Shekhar (Monish). But the story takes another romantic turn when he finds comfort in Meenakshi (Kaanchan). Also, there is attempt by Shetty to trace the money. As the story progresses, there are several turns and twists which are hardly convincing.

It's the bold and beautiful Bhavana Rao who steals the show with her performance. RJ Prithvi has done a good job of a villain. Monish Nagaraj is lively with good expressions. Vasu Dixit's overacting is too hard to stomach.

Googly Movie Review

Googly Kannada Movie Review

Film Name: Googly
Starring :Yash,Kriti Kharbanda
Directed :Pawan Wadeyar
Produced :Jayanna,Bhogendra
Written :Pawan Wadeyar
Music:Joshua Sridhar
Cinematography :Vaidhi
Editing :Sanath Suresh
Studio :Jayanna Combines
Release date:19-July 2013

Movie Review
Yash, the Rocking Star of Sandalwood, is back with Googly after Yogaraj Bhat's superhit movie Drama. He has joined hands with director Pawan Wadeyar of Govindaya Namaha fame, the factor which generates more expectations from audience on the project. Well, these things would pull the audience to the theatres in the first weekend but the success, as always, depends on the quality of the product. Now, without wasting time, I'm getting into the serious business - reviewing. Googly is a romantic comedy movie targeted mainly towards youths and Yash fans. The film has a good comedy scenes, lively story and good performances from the lead stars. But the drawback is, it appears like the movie caters to the specific age groups and people. Nonetheless, entertainment is guaranteed all through the movie. Hero is injured and he is admitted to hospital by a girl named Swathi (Kriti Kharbhanda), who is into tears looking at him, in Mangalore. Soon we are told that he is a business tycoon Sharath (Yash). But he needs blood, and she decides to donate her blood in order to save him. A flashback opens up with the heroine, a medical student, coming to Bangalore to participate in the World Economic Form. We are told that Yash doesn't like girls, but believes in love. However, he pretends as if he hates love. While the girls ignore him for the same, Swathi likes his strange behaviour and starts liking him. As expected, he too falls in love. Both of them delay to confess their love. However, the story takes a twist when the hero sees his leading lady talking to other person. This creates a difference and they part ways. The remaining part answers how they come together again.

Surprising Googlies Director Pavan Wadeyar has blended comedy with various commercial elements to churn out a good love story. More importantly, there are enough surprising googlies in the movie. He has written wonderful one-liners, which would definitely go well with youths.

Full marks To Yash Full marks to Yash, who has come out with flying colours. His acting is simply brilliant and he wins the audience heart with his wonderful comedy timings. His dancing and fights add value to the project. Well, is he getting typecast? Well, let the audience decide it. His co-star Kriti Kharbanda tries her best to match him up.

Technical Not only the hero, but even audience will fall in love with her for her cute expressions and smiles. Her chemistry works well with Yash. Ananth Nag, as always, does justice to his role. Technically, the movie is good. Two songs of the movie are nice to hear and background score by Anoop Selin is praiseworthy.

Verdict: Verdict: Googly for those who are young at heart and who love this genre movies.

Chella Pilli Movie Review

Chella Pilli Kannada Movie Review

Film Name: Chella Pilli
Cast: Vijaya Raghavendra, Aishwarya Nag,
Shobhraj, Naveen Patel, DV Sadananda Gowda
Direction: Saikrishna Kudla
Genre: Drama
Duration: 2 hours 26 minutes

Movie Review
A good movie needs a good script and the director should be able to give life to the script with a lively narration. But director Saikrishna Kudla does not impress you either with the script or the
narration. Chella Pilli is a chaotic movie which neither conveys a message nor entertains you. Except for Vijaya Raghavendra, who has to some extent taken the responsibility of carrying the story forward with good performance, others look silly with their performance.

The story revolves around Hemanth (Vijaya Raghavendra) who busts a drug mafia. The situation is set when drug lord Anwar asks Pachhu to handover some drugs to a person. They hide the drug in a doll. But the doll goes missing. How does Hemanth bust the drug mafia? We also have a romantic track with Hemanth and Diya (Aishwarya Nag) falling in love with each other, which lacks seriousness. It would have been better if the movie was trimmed by half an hour.

Aishwarya Nag has done a good job with her expressions. Shobhraj looks like a joker in his roel as a police officer. Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda appears in a scene where he opens a mall and gives a speech. Cinematography by PC Ravee is okay. Music by Mikku Kavil is not good enough to retain the tunes in memory.

Whistle Movie Review

Whistle Kannada Movie Review
Film Name:Whistle
Cast: Chiranjeevi Sarja, Praneetha, Vijaya Koundinya, Guruprasad, Dhananjaya
Direction: Prashant Raj
Genre: Drama
Duration: 1 hour 55 minutes

Movie Review
Director Prashant Raj has selected a horror story and has given it life with good script and narration, though in some places it gets boring. But full marks to him for the way he has handled the story with excellent sequences which are gripping.

The story begins on a romantic note with Ram (Chiranjeevi Sarja), a pizza delivery boy, marries his girlfriend Anu (Pranitha) after she gets pregnant. The story takes a curious turn when Ram, who visits Smitha Bangalow to deliver pizza. After entering the house, the lights go off and the woman who ordered the pizza is found murdered. Two others are also killed in the house. A frightened Ram tries to come out of the house but fails in his effort. There is a curious turn to the story when we find that the drama in the haunted house is linked to diamonds. Ram and Anu find them in the box given to Ram by his shop owner. What is that link?

Chiranjeevi Sarja has given life to the character with his expression. Pranitha has done justice to the role. Vijay Koundinya has done a good job in his brief appearance. Camera by Santhosh Rai Pathaje is marvelous. Music by Joshua Shridhar has some catchy tunes.

Ale Movie Review

Ale Kannada  Movie Review

Film Name: Ale
Cast: Tanush, Harshika Poonacha, Petrol Prasanna,
Bhavani Prakash, Aviva Bidappa, Shakila, Biradar, Ramakrishna
Direction: Gopikiran
Genre: Drama
Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes
Movie Review
Director Gopikiran had all the opportunities to make it a quality movie, but has failed in his effort to keep the narration lively and alive. The real culprit is the editor who has failed to give a shape and structure to the movie. Most of the sequences are loosely edited with errors creeping in.

The simple story line has Kiran (Tanush) falling in love with Geetha (Harshika Poonacha). Like in many romantic movies, we have a villain called Sathya (Petrol Prasanna) who also wants to marry her but Geetha hates him. Sathya is supported by her mother Maramma (Bhavani Prakash). We also come to know that Geetha and Kiran were childhood friends. There was dispute between their families involving Maramma. What is that dispute? Who marries Geetha?

Tanush has done his best but need to go a long way to prove as a hero. Harshika Poonacha fails to give life to the story with poor expressions and emotionless face. Bhavani Prakash excels with good dialogue delivery and body language. Camera by Sriraja Aakula is okay only in song sequences.

Bhairavi Movie Review

Bhairavi Kannada Movie Review
Film Name: Bhairavi
Cast: Ayesha, Ramesh Bhat, Suchendra prasad,
Umesh, Neenasam Ashwath, Dilip Raj
Direction: Ha Su Rajashekhar
Genre: Drama
Duration: 2 hours 5 minutes

Movie Review
Bhairavi is not a movie for the young generation who loves movies with good music, action and romance. Ayesha may be known as Lady Brucelee, but that should not inspire director Ha Su Rajashekhar to make a movie that looks like a documentary on Ayesha.

The focus of the movie is on Ayesha who has donned the role of a police officer Bhairavi. She takes on local rowdy Appaji Gowda and her superior deputy superintendent of police (Suchendra Prasad) and her colleague David (Neenasam Ashwath) who are close to him. They all gang up to fight against Bhairavi. She is suspended on false charges of slapping the DySP. She loses her father (Ramesh Bhat) in her fight against Appaji Gowda. Worse, she faces the charge of killing her father and doesn't get any support from the department.

She fights a lonely battle against the goondas. How does she do it? Ayesha shines as police officer. Ramesh Bhat, Suchendra Prasad and Neenasam Ashwath have done justice to their roles. Music by Veer Samarth fails to deliver any catchy tunes.

Movie Review
The story has a princess falling in love with a music teacher, but is engaged to another boy against her wishes. She fights to get back her sweetheart but does she succeed in it? Though the story is very simple, director Roopa Iyer has given it an artistic touch in every sequence making the best use of heroine Shriya Saran's beauty and acting talent. Every scene is pleasing to the eyes.

The story revolves around Chandramathi (Shriya Saran), a princess, and Chandrahasa (Prem), a music teacher. The duo falls in love with each other. But the princess is engaged to Arya (Ganesh Venkataraman), settled in the US, against her wishes. She is not at all impressed by the US culture and tries to contact Chandrahasa to express her feelings. In another development, Chandrahasa promises his father that he would forget Chandramathi and allow her to marry Arya. But on the wedding day, the story takes a dramatic turn which ends on a happy note.

Full marks to Shriya Saran for her excellent portrayal of the princess. She impresses with her expression and dialogue delivery. Prem is superb as a music teacher and has given life to his character. Srinath shines as Shriya's father. Music by Gowtham Srivathsa is impressive. PKH Das has done an excellent work with his camera.

Nam Duniya Nam Style Kannada Movie Review

Film Name: Nam Duniya Nam Style
Cast: Likhith Shetty, Vinayak Joshi, Krishna, Kavya Shetty,
Milana Nagaraj, Soniya Gowda, Sadhu Kokila, Padmaja Rao, Rangayana Raghu
Direction: Preetham Gubbi
Genre: Adventure
Duration: 2 hours 16 minutes

Movie Review
Director Preetham Gubbi, one of the talented directors in Sandalwood, could have done a better job of the romantic story with some lively sequences. He has also taken the risk by introducing a couple of new faces who have shown some promise. Though the director has prepared a good script, the narration is dull and boring.

The story is about three friends - Preetham (Likhith Shetty), Yogi (Krishna) and Umesh Shetty (Vinayak Joshi). Yogi and Umesh accompany Preetham to meet his girlfriend Maya ( Soniya Gowda) in Malaysia. But he is surprised to see her in the close company of another boy Paul Mathew, a local resident. Disappointed with Maya's attitude, Preetham decides to return to India. The director gives a twist to the story here with Preetham getting engaged to Milana (Milana Nagaraj). Milana too likes him but Preetham has his reservations for her. Meantime, Yogi and Umesh succeed in finding their partners in Radha (Kavya Shetty), a yoga teacher, and Liky, a Chinese salesgirl, respectively. While yoga teacher refuses to accompany Yogi to India, the Chinese salesgirl is found dead in an accident. But the director gives a happy ending to the story.

Among the heroes, only Vinayak Joshi impresses with excellent performance. Likhith Shetty and Krishna have a long way to go to prove as actors. While Milana Nagaraj excels with good expressions and dialogue delivery, Kavya Shetty and Soniya have given lively performances. It is HC Venu who has given life to the narration with his brilliant camera work. Shaan Rehman's music is okay.

Cast: Naveen Krishna, Swathi, Bhoomika, Mamatha Rahuth,
Sadhu Kokila, Raju Thalikote, Ashok Badaradinni
Direction: Umesh Badaradinni
Genre: Horror
Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes

Movie Review
The story is simple. Loki (Naveen Krishna) is a singer in an orchestra. The heroine Lakshmi (Swathi), who is also singer in the same troupe, falls in love with Loki. But Loki rejects her love and Lakshmi commits suicide. The turn of events has some more shocks in store for Loki. Lakshmi haunts him as a ghost and does not allow him to repent for the mistake. Scared Loki goes to a new place in a forest along with his friends. But Lakshmi who appears in yellow sari does not allow him to be in peace there also. There is a curious turn to the story when a woman in yellow sari is caught, giving a new twist to the story.

Full marks to Naveen Krishna who has carried the story forward with his excellent performance. While Swathi is impressive, Bhoomika scores over her with her expressions. Camera work by Renu Kumar is excellent. But music by Babu Master and Gautham Srivastav does not register in your mind.

Girija Lokesh, Padma Vasanthi, Tennis Krishna, Sihi Kahi Chandru and Doddarange Gowda
Direction: Om Sai Prakash
Genre: Drama
Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes
Movie Review
The story has all the elements of a Sai Prakash movie - sentiment, comedy and tearful sequences. But the question is how relevant is the subject for the present generation.
The story revolves around Bhaskara Rao (Ramesh Bhat), a rich industrialist, and his homemaker Sharada (Padmaja Rao). Bhaskara Rao wants a baby boy as he thinks he can save money and also earn cash through dowry.

The couple abandons the first baby in the hospital itself as it turns out to be a girl. When a son is born, they give him a lot of attention. But tragedy strikes the couple when the son and his lover force Bhaskara Rao to sell his property on the pretext of opening a factory in the US. The son takes all the money and leaves his parents in the lurch by not taking them to the US. The shocked couple decides to take refuge in an orphanage run by Teresa (Anu Prabhakar). What awaits them is a shocking but sweet situation. What is that?

Ramesh Bhat is at his best. Anu Prabhakar has done justice to her role. Padmaja Rao is impressive. Music by Vijay Srinivas and camera by C Narayana do not impress much.
