Archana Plays a Call Girl In New Film

Tollywood female leads seem to have taken a fancy for playing the role of sex workers in their movies. The latest to foray into this new obsession, after Charmme, Shirya Saran and Hariprriya, is Archana. "I am playing the role of a call girl in Kamala Tho Naa Prayanam," says Archana, who is starring in the movie directed by Narasimha Nandi, a National Award winner.

When asked about why her character is unique when compared to others, the actor quips, "My portrayal of the character is not like the ones shown now-a-days. It is a periodical one, set in the 1950s." Speaking more about her role, she adds, "My character shows lot of complexity — how she entered the profession and how she comes out of it, despite facing many problems."

Sivaji is playing the lead actor opposite Archana. "There is also a cute love story in between," she says, adding that she completely believes the way Nandi designed her character. "My looks and costumes are completely different and to watch out for as the story is a periodical one," the actor says.
