Gabbar Singh 2 Director Sampath Nandi Conformed

While film buffs and Pawan Kalyan fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out what's the status on the sequel of blockbuster film Gabbar Singh, here's some new dope. Sources close to the actor confirm that director Sampath Nandi will wield the megaphone for the prestigious project. Incidentally, the director's last film, Racha, had him directing Pawan Kalyan's nephew, Charan.

Since Harish Shankar, who directed Gabbar Singh (the official remake of the Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg), is pre-occupied with other commitments, the superstar was on the lookout for a new director. It's no surprise that he has zeroed in Sampath Nandi, what with Racha becoming a box office blockbuster.

While Pawan Kalyan himself will present the film under his production banner, Sharrath Marar will be producing it. Sources further add that the actor has decided to rope in a fresh new cast and crew for Gabbar Singh 2, which will not be a remake of Dabangg 2, but an original creation. The script of the film is currently being worked on.
